North Branch Farm is a 76 acre, diversified farm nestled along the banks of the Saranac River in the hamlet of Riverview, town of Saranac, part of the Adirondack Mountain region of New York.
North Branch Farm specializes in family heirloom figs, grass-fed beef, and full flavor vegetables (think amazing tomatoes!). Everything sold is raised on-farm, high quality and all natural.
North Branch Farm also incorporates the agroforestry practice of silvopasture to ensure pastures are fertile and ecologically sound. Cattle are able to graze grass under the comfort of trees. North Branch Farm is one of the few places in the Northeastern United States to utilize silvopasture. Forest farming practices are also being developed on North Branch Farm to cultivate wild leeks and fiddlehead fern.
The farm is owned and operated by Joe Orefice. Joe's sustainable agriculture contributions span practical farming, forestry, academic education, and scientific research.
